Responsibilities:
- The candidates’ responsibilities include gathering business requirements
- Study of existing legacy systems and assisting database architect in finalizing the logical data model along with system architect
- Other responsibilities include database development, preparing technical design specification, Stored procedure interface document, development of routines/scripts for data migration activities, database deployment and documentation
Requirements:
- Exposure and appreciation to software engineering methodologies. The candidate must have strong foundation/understanding of RDBMS concepts, data modeling and database development. Aptitude for documentation and providing training
- Must be proficient in PL/SQL or transact SQL languages, implementing stored procedures, triggers. Exposure to multiple databases is an added advantage
- Thorough knowledge of Unix/Win-NT required. Hands-on experience on Unix is a must. Updated with the latest trends in Database technologies (OO Database, XML), and must be at ease in using various releases of tools and enhancements
- Must have participated in at least one end-to-end Database development, i.e., must have exposure to the full cycle of activities in building a Database. Working knowledge of any other RDBMS is a plus. (MS SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, Sybase)
- A prior exposure to onsite database project and execution would be a definite plus. Excellent problem solving and team building skills a must. Familiarity with user-centered analysis and evaluation techniques
- BS/MS/BTech/MTech with 4+ years of experience in Database Development
